Dr. Nelson is a Grand Rapids native who brings a wealth of education, experience, and passion for dental care. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, following a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science with a minor in Chemistry from Andrews University, where she graduated summa cum laude. During her time at the University of Michigan, Dr. Nelson developed a pediatric oral health education outreach program for underserved communities, which highlights her dedication to making dental care accessible to all.Dr. Nelson is deeply committed to preventative dental care and prioritizing her patients' overall health. She enjoys building strong, personal relationships with her patients and works closely with them to achieve their dental goals. Her passion for serving others extends beyond the office—she is regularly involved in AMEN and Mission of Mercy dental clinics, where she provides care to those in need.
Dr. Nelson is a proud member of the West Michigan District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association, and the American Dental Association, ensuring that she stays up to date with the latest advancements in dental care.
When she's not in the office, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian, and their two young children, Asher and Ruthie. She is passionate about gardening, baking and staying active outdoors.
